When did you first get involved with CCFI?

I was introduced to CCFI in 2017 at the Hands & Hearts luncheon and started volunteering shortly after.

Why were you moved to join CCFI as a volunteer?

I attended Hands & Hearts with a friend, Jenny and then came in for a tour of Boys & Girls Club of Norman. After that tour, I knew right away that it was the place for me!

What do you enjoy most about volunteering?

The kids, of course! But not only that… I was immediately impressed with the excellent staff and caliber of volunteers. I was made to feel like part of the CCFI community and my teaching and tutoring skills have been utilized and appreciated. Volunteering has been so important to me, especially since I’m pretty sure I’m one of the oldest volunteers there! :)

What do you feel is the biggest impact CCFI has made on the community?

CCFI offers so much to their clients and the community. They don’t just help meet the basic needs of youth and families. The educational opportunities, counseling and nurturing that each individual child receives is outstanding!

What would you like to say to encourage others to volunteer at CCFI?

Come visit. Take a tour. Attend the luncheon. There are many different ways to volunteer. It is truly a place of great joy!
