Volunteer 

Volunteers are critical to the success of our agency. You can be part of the hundreds of volunteers who help heal children, empower youth and strengthen families. There are countless ways to get involved! We offer a variety of volunteer opportunities, available year-round, for *individuals and organizations who are interested in making a difference in a child’s life.

*Must be 18 or older to volunteer in direct services with children at CCFI. Younger children can volunteer with adult supervision in special assignments. All volunteers must pass a background check and complete training.


Volunteer Opportunities

Kids Cafe [Boys & Girls Club of Norman]
2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at least once a week
A minimum commitment of 1 shift a week for 6 months is required. 

Summary of Essential Duties

  • Assist Kids Cafe Coordinator in preparation and delivery of meals to youth
  • Assist in cleaning
  • Food handler’s permit required for this position

K - 5th Grade Power Hour [Boys & Girls Club of Norman]
3:40 – 4:30 p.m. at least once a week
A minimum commitment of 1 shift a week for 6 months is required. 

Summary of Essential Duties

  • Work with assigned Club member to provide one-on-one homework help

6th Grade and up Power Hour [Boys & Girls Club of Norman]
4:30 – 5:00 p.m. at least once a week (can be in addition to K-5th power hour)
A minimum commitment of 1 shift a week for 6 months is required. 

 Summary of Essential Duties

    • Work with assigned Club member to provide one-on-one homework help
    • Aid in Power Hour lessons taught by staff members

    K - 1st Grade Program Volunteer [Boys & Girls Club of Norman]
    3:30 – 6:30 p.m. at least once a week
    A minimum commitment of 1 shift a week for 6 months is required. 

     Summary of Essential Duties

      • Help lead academic enrichment activities in Power Hour with the group
      • Assist with K - 1st Grade in the gym, on the playground, in the community room and during art class
      • Engage with members, act as a mentor and build positive relationships throughout your time in the Club

      General Program Volunteer [Boys & Girls Club of Norman]
      3:30 – 6:30 p.m. at least once a week

      A minimum commitment of 1 shift a week for 6 months is required. 

       Summary of Essential Duties

        • Help lead academic enrichment activities in Power Hour with the 2nd - 5th Grade group
        • Assist with activities throughout the program, including in the gym, community room, opportunity zone, playground and art room as needed
        • Engage with members, act as a mentor and build positive relationships throughout your time in the Club

        Teen Program Volunteer [Boys & Girls Club of Norman]
        5:00 – 6:30 p.m. at least once a week

        A minimum commitment of 1 shift a week for 6 months is required. 

         Summary of Essential Duties

          • Assist in the BGCN Teen Room and any various areas of the Club
          • Engage with teen members, act as a mentor and build positive relationships throughout your time in the Club

          Baby Pantry Volunteer
          Flexible schedule [Monday–Friday, 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.]
          A minimum commitment of 3 hours per week for 6 months is required. 

          Summary of Essential Duties

          • Unloading boxes
          • Organzie the Baby Pantry as needed 
          • Pack, sort and organize diapers and wipes
          • Distribute diapers and wipes to walk-in pantry guests

          We are accepting applications for the 2018 Spring Semester.


          Play Therapy Group Assistants
          Mondays, 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. 
          A minimum commitment of 6 months is required. 

          Summary of Essential Duties

          • Assist in therapeutic children’s play groups by engaging with children (ages 0-12) through play
          • Help with set up/break down
          • Must have the ability to keep client names/identities confidential

          One-Time and Short-Term Volunteer Opportunities 

          Throughout the year, CCFI is involved with an array of special events, benefits and miscellaneous projects, most of which require extra staffing. These types of opportunities are ideal for individuals or groups who'd like to volunteer but are unable to commit to long-term service.
