When did you first get involved with CCFI?

My husband and I first got involved with CCFI in 1999 when I was asked to serve on the Board of Directors. Then, the agency was still known as JSI. I later served as the Board President from 2003 – 2004.

Why were you moved to donate to CCFI?

As a Board member, I knew I couldn’t ask others to give if I didn’t give myself.  I feel terribly blessed to be able to be a CCFI donor. Being able to name “Ralph’s” play therapy room in honor of my parents was a joy to me. My Dad’s golf bag still lives in that room. He loved children, as did my Mom, and volunteered for many years at a children’s organization in Florida.

What do you enjoy most about your service on the Board?

When I was asked to join the Board, I had the time and realized it was a great opportunity to do something worthwhile. I enjoyed helping the agency grow and increase services. I also loved learning more about the needs of our community and working with fellow board members and staff.

What do you feel is the biggest impact CCFI has made on the community?

CCFI demonstrates daily that we need to treasure our children and recognize that families sometimes need assistance. We know CCFI works effectively and efficiently to support families in every way possible!

What would you like to say to encourage others to get involved with CCFI, whether by donating or volunteering?

You cannot make a better use of your dollars or time than by investing in the well-being of our community. We are very proud of the work CCFI has done and continues to do.
