Volunteer

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Center for Children and Families, Inc. (CCFI). *Volunteers are critical to the success of our agency and truly make a difference in a child’s life. We offer a variety of opportunities, many available year-round, for individuals and groups who are looking to help further our mission to heal children, empower youth and strengthen families.

Volunteer Requirements

All individuals must be 18 or older to volunteer. Individuals under age 18 may volunteer with direct adult supervision in special circumstances. If you are interested in practicum/internship opportunities, please click HERE. CCFI does not provide volunteer opportunities for court-ordered community service. We do not allow anyone currently enrolled in Norman Public Schools to volunteer in Boys & Girls Club of Norman.

Volunteer Opportunities

Recycling Volunteer

Required Commitment: 1 day/week

CCFI is seeking a volunteer to help create a well-maintained, safe environment for clients, staff, visitors and volunteers by collecting recyclable goods. Recyclable goods would be picked up throughout the agency and would need to be transported to one of the City of Norman recycling drop off locations. The recycling volunteer must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and the ability to lift heavy items, such as full recycling bags and stack of boxes.

We ask that this volunteer makes a recycling pick-up a minimum of 1 time every week. Center for Children and Families, Inc. (CCFI) is open Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and recycling pick-ups would need to happen during that time frame.

Youth Development Volunteers

Required Commitment: 1 day/week for at least a full semester

Boys & Girls Club of Norman provides a safe and caring environment to Norman Public School students ages 6-18. The Club is open Monday - Friday, 2:30 - 7:00 p.m., and follows the Norman Public School academic calendar.

Youth development volunteers assist Club staff in various program areas to provide additional support all while working to build safe and positive relationships. Youth development volunteers will primarily work with Club members to provide individualized tutoring or homework support. Depending on the daily needs of our program, youth development volunteers may be paired with a certain age group and/or program area (art room, gym activities, etc.) to provide support as needed.

One-Time Group Projects

These opportunities are available on an as-needed basis.

Volunteer opportunities are available for organizations and groups who are looking to dedicate their time and energy to serving our mission. Typical projects include, but are not limited to, window cleaning, playground maintenance, sanitizing toys, picking up trash, etc., and can be customized for individual groups as needed. Contact us today to learn more!
