Volunteer Opportunities

Neighborhood Centers Adult Volunteers

Adult volunteers working with high risk children in our Neighborhood Centers. This is a commitment of one night a week for at least 16 weeks. Special training is provided for volunteers.

Parent Assistance Adult Volunteers
Adult volunteers working with staff with high risk children in our Children’s play therapy groups. This is a commitment on Tuesday nights for at least 25 weeks. Special training is provided for volunteers.

Teenage Parenting Adult Volunteers
Adult volunteers working with teenage parent's kids. This is a commitment on Tuesday nights for at least 25 weeks. Special training is provided for volunteers.



Volunteer through indirect service
We need volunteers who can help support our work through office and community activities.

Cookie deliverers

We give out cookies as a thank-you to our friends in the community. Help us to thank our supporters by delivering cookies. Volunteer hours are flexible.

Fair Chairperson  
Chairperson - To evaluate and organize work needed to represent CCFI at fairs. 4-5 volunteers will take age nc y material and setup table at fairs.

Playroom Volunteers
6-8 Volunteers to help on a rotating basis to clean toys in waiting room and playrooms monthly.

Special Mailings Chairperson
To arrange for volunteers to write notes and address envelopes as needed. We send approximately 600 hand addressed Thanksgiving cards in November

Furniture Movers
Chairperson. Organizing volunteers ( students and  others) to move office furniture when needed. 4-5 Volunteers: Willing and able to move heavy office furniture as needed.

Emergency Food Preparation
Chairperson -  To organize volunteers to prepare food  for clients needing prepared food during a family emergency. Direct volunteer -  Person with special training to deliver food to family in an emergency situation.

Office Volunteer
Volunteer to work in the front office on a regular basis to help with answering phones, data entry. Special training is provided for volunteers.

Landscape and Handyman Projects
Chairperson – To evaluate and organize work needed on the playground and the courtyard. 1-2 volunteers working every other month on outdoor projects (repair and painting playground equipment). 1-2 volunteers to water and weed the flower beds o nc e a week around the front door.

Help with Events

Day of Caring – Sept 12, 2008
Chairperson -
To organize the day’s events by working with the Volunteer Coordinator, to prepare for the United Way volunteer team. 2 Volunteers - Prepare snacks and drinks for United Way Team. 2 Volunteers to help with set up and clean up

Tuesday Evening Snack Suppers – Quarterly meals Chairperson – Sharri  -  To organize the meal preparation with the Volunteer Coordinator. 6-8 indirect volunteers to prepare a simple meal (Sandwiches and Fruit) for 120 adults and kids. 1-2 direct volunteers to help serve the meal to the clients

Volunteer Recognition Event – Nov. 1st or 8th
Chairperson - To organize the day’s events working with the Volunteer Coordinator. 4-5 Volunteers – To help with procurement of gifts, set up, decorations and clean up.

Holiday Open House - Early Dec
2-3 Volunteers – to help with decorations, food preparation , Angel Tree, set up and clean up.
