Children’s Therapeutic Play Groups

Parents Assistance program has a special program for your children. Children’s play groups are available to children of parenting group participants who are under 14 years of age. Our staff and volunteers become partners with you in understanding how best to relate with your child.

Our Children’s Program Director is a master’s level professional in social work, human relations or psychology. The Children’s program director screens, trains and supervises our wonderful program volunteers. Children will be fed a snack each evening and have an opportunity to participate in play including interacting with a visiting therapy dog once a month.

Please contact the program director, Tracy, before your child’s first visit to children’s play groups either by email  (tdickens@ccfinorman.org) or phone 405.364.1420.

lineEmergency Respite Care (Extended Families)

Extended Families is specifically designed to provide short-term emergency foster care for children 0-18 years old. This service is for families who are in crisis and do not have a safe place for their children to stay. Some examples of children who qualify for this service are those who might have a parent in the hospital or jail, whose family is having extreme financial problems, or whose family is homeless. Most often the children come from single-parent homes, and their parent is in desperate need of respite care. Children are placed with Extended Families volunteers, and the average stay is 2-7 days.
