Who Qualifies for NC Services

Why is the Neighborhood Centers program needed?

All children need a safe place to go after school with enriching activities and positive adult role models.  Many children care for themselves after school with no adult supervision.  We provide a safe place for kids during out-of-school time, and offer a variety of activities so that each child can learn, be active, and receive the attention and care they need to feel valued.

Who does the Neighborhood Centers program assist?

Anyone!  Neighborhood Centers is mostly for elementary-age children in neighborhoods surrounding Wilson and Kennedy Elementary schools, but we welcome children and families from other neighborhoods.  Our vision is to see this program expand to every school in Norman.  We encourage parents to come with their children and do activities together as a family.

How can I benefit from these services?

Children have the opportunity to be around nurturing and caring adults during out-of-school time and choose from a variety of crafts, games, and activities that provide structure, education, and a positive environment.
