More About the NC Program
Neighborhood Centers provides the following service for children and families:
Out of School Activities
We offer a unique and enriching program during out-of-school time for youth and families. We provide a nurturing and structured environment for kids and focus on developing positive relationships where kids feel special.
The Neighborhood Centers Program develops community in neighborhoods by connecting children and families to their neighbors and community resources. The program is held on weeknights at elementary schools in Norman.
All of our activites are geared to provide a positive environment where kids and parents can connect with each other and other families in their neighborhood.

What makes Neighborhood Centers different:
- We work with Oklahoma Americorps members who want to make a positive difference in their community through this program.
- We provide all of our staff with a high amount of training throughout the year.
- We use a high number of staff and volunteers, so kids receive individual attention.
- We do activities in small groups so that children feel valued.
- We implement training from Dr. Bruce D. Perry into our program so that children receive the care they need from positive adults.
- Staff received training in 2007 from SPARK, a recreational program that uses fun, positive, and non-competitive games that keep kids active and healthy.
