Boys & Girls Club of Norman
Boys & Girls Club of Norman at CCFI is seeking volunteers to work various shifts, Monday -Friday, 3:30 - 6:30 p.m. Scheduled hours may vary, please see details below. A minimum commitment of 1 shift a week for 6 months is preferred.
Front Desk Volunteer
Monday-Friday, 2:30-5:00 p.m. and 5:00-7:00 p.m. or 2:30-7:00 p.m.
This job will involve checking kids in and out, answering the phone and checking voicemail messages, monitoring the front door, being prepared to print attendance for various drills and situations, phoning parents on a case by case basis, being personable with kids parents and families, and just overall being in charge of the front desk space.
Power Hour Volunteers
Monday–Thursday 3:30 - 4:30 p.m.
Work one-on-one with Club members during Power Hour to provide homework assistance to ensure they receive the attention needed to excel academically.
Monday-Friday 3:30 - 6:30 p.m.
Serve as a positive role model by providing homework help, playing games, completing crafts, and building positive relationships with Club members.
Administrative and Baby Pantry Support
Volunteer support helps CCFI keep its administrative costs low so that more resources can be focused on direct services. The Baby Pantry is a free service that provides an emergency supply of diapers and wipes to local families on a first-come, first-served basis. Administrative and Baby Pantry Support volunteer opportunities are available Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., in both morning and afternoon shifts. Scheduled hours may vary. A minimum commitment of 2 hours/week for 1 semester is preferred.
Volunteer duties include:
- Data entry
- Make copies
- File documents
- Assist with special projects
- Pack, sort and organize diapers
- Distribute diapers and wipes to walk-in pantry guests
